7. Specific measures

Special needs

The project has been designed to be accessible to all from the beginning. Special IT equipment will be purchased if required to enable all pupils to communicate on line. Lesson planning to ensure all activities are accessible by all pupils with extra support available if required. Differentiated activities and expected outcomes to allow for all level of abilities including gifted and talented pupils. We hope to encourage staff and community discussion of special needs issues and facilities across schools to increase the inclusivity of all schools.

Equal opportunities - gender

Girls will be positively encouraged to use ICT where this is identified as a problem. Extra support will be given to those who lack the skills or confidence to participate fully. Schools will share equal opportunity policies. Schools will monitor participation by gender to ensure equality of access.

Promote Intercultural Education

Our entire project is designed to combat the racism and xenophobia that we are aware exists in our schools. We will challenge all racism and prejudice within the spirit of our school rules.

Participation of Disadvantaged pupils

Our schools have a significant number of socio/economically disadvantaged pupils. Our project is designed to support them to see beyond their own personal and social barriers to strive to achieve success in life. Our monitoring process will ensure equality of access to the project.

Participation of ethnic/minority groups

Schools will share equal opportunities policies where these exist. These policies will ensure access to the project for all staff and pupils regardless of ethnicity, disability, gender etc.
