1. Project Aims
The project originated from a meeting of teachers from across Europe in Campobasso, Italy in October 2004. We felt our schools had similar issues and the students lacked an understanding of life beyond their own community.
Our main aims were seen as -
- To integrate a European dimension into each school's curriculum
- To allow students to gain an understanding and respect for their own culture and traditions and to raise their own self esteem
- To raise awareness of the similarities between our cultures
- To celebrate the differences between our cultures
- To develop awareness of the importance of using our European heritage to promote equality
- To share our new cultural awareness with our local, national, European and world-wide communities using ICT where appropriate
- To develop our ICT skills as a tool to help us communicate across Europe
